What makes these spaces special is not the amount – it is the contents. A garage holds oils, paint tins and tyres. An attic holds insulation, building leftovers and furniture nobody could face carrying down. A basement often has damp, chemicals and old white goods. Garage
Garage clearance in Gothenburg
A garage is rarely just a garage. After ten years it is a workshop, a storeroom and an overflow space all at once. In a garage clearance we typically meet car parts, tyres, tools, bicycles, building materials, garden machinery, paint and engine oil.
The practical side is usually simple – the garage is at ground level and the truck can park close by. What needs care is the sorting: tyres, waste oil, batteries, paint and solvents count as hazardous waste and must go to a dedicated facility. We handle that as part of the job, so you avoid several trips to the recycling centre yourself.

Basement
Basement clearance – damp, chemicals and heavy lifting
The basement is the space that most often holds surprises. Here you find the workshop, the preserves, old furniture that "might come in handy" and, not infrequently, damp damage meaning some of the contents must be discarded straight away.
In a basement clearance we pay particular attention to three things: the stairs (narrow, steep basement stairs mean heavy furniture sometimes has to be dismantled), the damp (furniture and textiles with mould are handled separately for health and safety reasons) and the chemicals (paint, thinner, pesticides and old medicines that must go to the right facility).
Old white goods in the basement – chest freezers, washing machines, tumble dryers – count as electrical waste and are collected separately. We have the equipment to get heavy items out of cramped basements without damaging walls or stairs.
Attic
Attic clearance – the hardest space to reach
An attic clearance is almost always more work than expected. Not because there is so much up there, but because everything has to be carried down a staircase rarely built for moving furniture – sometimes a hatch ladder with limited headroom.
In attics we typically find old suitcases and trunks, Christmas decorations and seasonal items, children’s things kept for later, furniture replaced twenty years ago, insulation offcuts and building materials from the last renovation. In older Gothenburg attics there may also be old insulation needing special handling – we assess that on site.

Storage
Storage and self-storage unit clearance
A storage space can be many things: the unit in an apartment block’s basement, a free-standing shed by the house, or a rented self-storage unit. The need is usually the same – the space must be empty by a set date, often because the rental agreement is ending.
For self-storage clearance, time is usually what matters most. If the agreement ends at the turn of the month, the unit must be empty and swept or the rent keeps running. We work to that date and can prioritise the job if needed.

Hazardous waste
What counts as hazardous waste?
The following must not go in ordinary bins and has to be taken to a dedicated facility. We handle all of it as part of the clearance:
- Paint, varnish, glue, thinner and solvents – including dried-out tins.
- Engine oil, waste oil and antifreeze, plus oil filters and rags that have been in contact with oil.
- Car batteries and household batteries, including rechargeable ones.
- Tyres – with or without rims.
- Pesticides and chemicals from the garden and hobby use.
- Fluorescent tubes, low-energy bulbs and electronics – classed as electrical waste.
- White goods – fridges and freezers contain refrigerant and need special handling.
- Old medicines – return to a pharmacy, never in the bin.
Sorting wrongly costs both the environment and money: incorrectly sorted waste at the recycling centre can incur fees. That is one reason many people let us take the whole handling.
